IDEAS Framework Phase 1: Introspection

I believe we don’t take the time to truly know ourselves.  Reason being, there are so many distractions in the world (including this text, email, TikTok device in my pocket that commands my attention).  Maybe the rest of the world just seems more interesting.  Truth is, you’re just as interesting.

To find professional alignment (a job that utilizes your core skills, your personality and in an industry you’re excited about) you have to uncover those things about yourself.  This is the work in Introspection.

We all have core skills that we are innately gifted with.  Understanding yours can be the start to how they apply to a job that will bring you fulfillment. (Learn how to do this in other blog posts).

You also need to understand how you show up in the world; otherwise known as your personality.  Are you more inclined to be the leader to drive the initiative forward or part of the team that gets the job done?  There are pros and cons to both.

And then of course you have to dream big about possibilities.  Embracing the growth mindset and understanding that anything is possible, but you just might not know yet how to connect the dots.  But you will, if you work the IDEAS Framework.

Knowing all of these things about yourself and keeping them in your “mental dashboard” can help you apply them in a way that leads to more job satisfaction; more happiness and more purpose in life.
